JOB DESCRIPTION – I&C LEAD Position: Instrumentation & Control Lead Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu Experience: 15–20 Years Industry: Oil & Gas / Refinery / Petrochemical Job Overview We are looking for an experienced Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Lead with strong expertise in Oil & Gas, Refinery and Petrochemical projects. The candidate will be responsible for leading instrumentation engineering activities, managing engineering deliverables, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and ensuring compliance with project specifications and international standards. Key Responsibilities • Lead and execute Instrumentation & Control engineering activities for EPC projects. • Review and approve instrumentation engineering documents and deliverables. • Manage preparation and review of Instrument Index, I/O Lists, Instrument Datasheets and Specifications. • Review P&IDs, Instrument Hook-up Drawings, Loop Diagrams and Wiring Diagrams. • Handle DCS, PLC, ESD, SIS and Fire & Gas (F&G) system engineering. • Review control valve sizing, field instrument selection and instrument specifications. • Coordinate with Process, Piping, Electrical and other engineering disciplines. • Conduct technical bid evaluations and review vendor documents. • Ensure compliance with international codes, standards and client specifications. • Manage engineering schedules, resource allocation and team performance. • Coordinate with clients, vendors and project management teams. Technical Skills Required • Instrumentation & Control Engineering. • DCS, PLC, ESD, SIS and Fire & Gas Systems. • Field Instrumentation and Control Valves. • Instrument Index, I/O List and Datasheets. • P&ID and Instrumentation Design. • Instrument Cable Schedule, Hook-up and Loop Drawings. • Technical Bid Evaluation and Vendor Document Review. • Engineering Team Leadership and Project Coordination. Educational Qualification B.E. / B.Tech in Instrumentation & Control, Electronics & Instrumentation or Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Experience Requirements • 15–20 years of overall experience in Instrumentation & Control Engineering. • Strong experience in Oil & Gas / Refinery / Petrochemical projects. • Experience in FEED, Basic and Detailed Engineering. • Proven experience in leading I&C engineering teams and handling project deliverables.
